CGC. Third-party authentification.

CGC is a company that verify, grade and seal collectable items in plastic.

A lot of people have different opinions about this.

Good or bad? You decide.

"In 1999, the CGC began grading and verifying comic books. They then act as an impartial intermediary and are then neither buyers nor sellers. They wrap the object in plastic and seal it. On the inside there is an archival material and on the outside there is a protective layer. The plastic is transparent and clear so it is possible to see both the front and the back. As it becomes safer to shop remotely and the buyer can trust the authenticity, this has contributed to increased turnover and higher prices. In 2014, CGC began offering the same service to concert poster collectors. They started with a number of well-known series such as Bill Graham, Family Dog and Grande Ballroom. The development has since followed that which comic books have undergone."
